Hands Off the Man's Ride.

What is with the Richmond Times Dispatch that they have to look in Sa'ad El-Amin's car? Their article on Saturday had some decent coverage on El-Amin's tax problems, but then they look in his back seat.

El-Amin, 62, drove to the hearing in a red Toyota Corolla All-Trac and parked it on 12th Street. The car was missing a front license plate and front wheel covers. A garbage bag full of men's clothes was in the back seat. A Prince Longbody tennis racket and a Mother Goose book lay in the back of the car.

I better not see Tom Campbell and Jeremy Redmon poking around my vehicle. I'm no fan of the 6th District's councilman, but give us a break lads.

A Rainy Day in the Neighborhood

So much has been written about Fred Rogers's passing last week. However, Plastic.com came through with some great links and responses -

I'd like to give you all an invisible gift. A gift of a silent minute to think about those who have helped you become who you are today. Some of them may be here right now. Some may be far away. Some, like my astronomy professor, may even be in Heaven. But wherever they are, if they've loved you and encouraged you and wanted what was best in life for you, they're right inside yourself.

Matt sent me a great article in Esquire about Mister Rogers as well. It's been a couple of days, but I think Fred Rogers's lessons with stay will all of us for a while.

I Am Pathetic, Please.

What's more pathetic than working late? Working late while listening to Fugazi's 13 Songs.

I am a patient boy/I wait, I wait, I wait

Work is still keeping me busy. That and the furor over the Grammy for Best Polka Album.

However, tonight it is snowing and I am at home. I even cooked something, though it wasn't very good. However, I have gotten my pipsqueak little linux server hooked up to my half-pint home network. So now I can telnet out to my own linux box and play around my own little bash account. Just like at work.
