January 21, 2003

Today was a short day at work amidst a week of what will probably be rather long days. However, during the lulls in activity as I wait for my web app to bounce, I've had a chance to do some skulking around. Now, I must digest my dinner and start reading this week's Economist.

You don't have to live like a refugee.

But if you want to, you now have a place to shop. Nizam Canvas has expanded its tent niche into a wide variety of refugee related products. And some of the tents are clearly not for refugees. Of course, the sad fact is that many people use these items every day. [found on BoingBoing.net]

Am I Hot or Not

There's a very funny article in last week's New Yorker relating to the "Am I Hot or Not" craze. It's funny because it's the same response that I get at work.[reminded by Harrumph.com]

My Uncles' Room

My dad's two youngest brothers were teenagers when I was a little kid. This Boing Boing link makes me think of their room at my grandparents' house. I distinctly remember the models of movie monsters. The vintage G.I. Joes elsewhere on the site are pretty cool as well.

If you like popcorn -

You need one of these. Or maybe they'd be a really bad idea.
