Music? In Richmond.

This can't be Richmond. Corey Harris is playing in town Friday. The Dismemberment Plan is playing on Saturday. Gillian Welch is in town on Sunday. The Rev. Horton Heat is playing in two weeks. What the hell is going on? I actually turned down an offer to go see a band tonight, because I'm already seeing other bands this week! Oh, yeah, about half of the other bands are in DC. Yep, I'm still in Richmond. Well, at least Chris Bopst is still on the air.

Back from VacationMoon rise over the Atlantic

I spent a relaxing six nights on the Outer Banks of North Carolina last week. So, instead of updating my blog, I swam in the ocean, napped, soaked in the jacuzzi and read a few good books. I also watch the sun rise over the ocean in the morning as well as the moon rise over it at night.

Cute Animals

Led Zeppelin and Kittens

I laughed out loud when I first saw this flash animation on MetaFilter. I'm not sure sure which is funnier – the lyrics over the heads of the kittens ("Aaaah-ah") or the dramatic moment where the calico emotes "Valhalla, I am coming."

Scary Bunnies and Angry Monkeys

Salon.com has a great article and gallery on the paintings of Laurie Hogin. You'll have to scroll down to get to the gallery, but it's worth the hunt.
